Spent the other day with the family exploring a park that we've been hearing about but hadn't gone to see: Montgomery Bell out near Dickson, TN. We hiked gently rolling trails but DH is planning on mountain biking today. There's a lake for fishing and the trees are ablaze. And (!) no one got poison oak/ ivy. A victory for us since we are still adjusting to what's-what out here. In California we knew what to look for...
Here's the creek where we inadvertantly disturbed a juvenile raccoon. He wasn't too mad. Well, he was pretty grouchy. He trotted a few feet away and waited for us to leave. When we didn't, he found somewhere else to sleep.

A bit of colour on the path (colour that wasn't brown, orange, yellow or green-that is)

Reflections on the creek.

Back porch of the Beaver Dam.

Side View of Beaver Dam. You can clearly see the hole he enters/exits through. Just to the right of that is the slide he uses to get to the water. It was quite wet and recently used when we showed up!

Fire!

Fishing Lake. Or, Feeshin', as we like to say..

Montgomery Bell Trail. AKA, Sleepy Hollow.
